

Today, we calculated various measurements on places around the world using the Google Earth computer program. Locations the students chose included the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Gulf of Mexico, the Hawaiian island of Maui, and Mount McKinley in Alaska. The students worked on different measurement tasks based on their individual math goals.
Students, please remember that:
Area = Length x Width
Perimeter = the sum of the lengths of all the sides (add all the sides together)
